Day or two late to this schadenfreude party but do not think it dulls my enjoyment whatsoever. It's stories like this that make me put on Keedz's "Stand on the Word" and dance around my apartment.
That's how the good Lord works, indeed.
What story? California Republican State Senator Roy Ashburn has been a staunch opponent of every piece of Gay Rights legislation that has come under his vote – including "recognizing out-of-state same-sex marriages, Harvey Milk Day and expanding anti-discrimination laws."
Wednesday, March 3, 2010, Sen. Ashburn was arrested for drunk driving.
After leaving Sacramento's gay nightclub Faces.
With an "unidentified male passenger."
Okay friends, an exercise: Stick your right hand out. Uncurl your fingers. Okay? Now, the left. Stick it out. Wide fingers on both hands.
And JAZZ HANDS! As we tap dance on the grave of Senator Ashburn’s political career.
This is us:
R.I.P. POLITICAL CAREER OF SENATOR ROY ASHBURN
Ashburn has since issued an apology to his supporters, friends & family.
For about two seconds, I feel sympathy for the pain and anguish his family must be experiencing. Then, of course, I remember what his policies have done to gay and lesbian families in California and cease to care.
Aah. Catharsis. Happy Weekend, everyone!
