On Your Mark! Get Set! Get Married! (Or... Goin' Back to Cali)

Say California voters approve Proposition 8 banning non-opposite-sex marriages. What happens to all the folks who got married between the date the state Supreme Court first legalized them, May 15, and the date of the ballot, November 4?

According to state AG Jerry Brown, they'll probably still be recognized as married.

Because really, if you get married in California before November 4 and Prop 8 does become law, who will represent the state in any lawsuits over it? And which judges will hear your plea to recognize your marriage?

Oh, Jerry Brown. And the state Supreme Court.
