From Ex-Gay and Beyond

By Kate Getty, June 27, 2007, 10:03pm, Qmmunity

This week, Exodus International, the world's largest ex-gay ministries network, is throwing its annual conference in Irvine, Calif. By no mistake, the same week, same neck of woods, we have the Ex-Gay Survivor Conference, for those faithful who have been enrolled in Exodus' ministries or programs like it, have prayed for that same-sex feeling down there to just to go way, who hope to sit down maturely and have open dialogue, and some friendly dinner. (This Friday? What'dya say, Exodus? Pass the mashed potatoes?)

Check out the dinner/dialogue invite from former-Exodus exiles, Peterson Toscano and Christine Bakke (whose Glamour story we blogged about back in April), founders of www.beyondexgay.com, who joined forces with SoulForce to make this year's conference possible.

On Thursday, June 21, Exodus issued a press release acknowledging "The Ex-Gay Survivor Conference," stating that the organization welcomes discussion. But, no word on whether or not they're coming for dinner, to talk to Toscano, Bakke, and the bunch.

So far, no RSVP from Exodus. Details to come, when available.
