A neighborhood after dark...

I can't believe how early it gets dark outside these days. I find myself getting home from work, rushing around to play and feed our little kiddo, putting her to bed, and then getting out for my walk/run as part of our "training". I've noticed some completely random things, but they entertain me on my nightly path. It's an interesting insight into people. Who knew that so many people had flat screen TV's? I understand why it's easy to be lazy and sit in front of the TV - if I can see the TV from the street it's interesting to see what people are watching. On garbage night, you can imagine interesting things about people as you pass their recycle bin - everything from fancy water bottles to the cheapest beer you can buy, and lots of it. Some people are so particular about the way they stack their garbage - and others have it spilling out of their garbage can. The other night I saw an older lady BBQ-ing in her driveway with a flashlight. And I usually see lots of stray cats - hanging out in bunches being lazy on driveways or front porches. And slowly, the neighborhood Halloween decorations are going up. I try to have fun on my journey, and set little goals along the way, making myself try to run a little further each day. It's slow progress, but coming along.

Along with the training, I'm trying to eat healthier too. It's not easy. I really like french fries. And scones. And queso and chips. Yeah, I pretty much love any food. Ordering the fruit on the side is really not as fun as shoestring french fries. There is just no comparison. Oh well, hopefully it'll pay off, right? Well, that's all from me for this week. I had to miss our training last week due to being out of town, so I fully expect this weeks training to kick my butt! Until next time...
