Christopher Jaramillo, 19, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and aggravated robbery. Demetri Rogers, 23, has been charged with aggravated robbery as well as aggravated kidnapping. Emmanuel Grear, 20, and a fourth unidentified suspect have not been arrested.

Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said Tuesday during a press conference that the department is putting all their effort into clearing this “horrific” case. APD seeks the public's help in catching the two remaining suspects.

The unnamed women, who Manley said were under 30, were visiting Austin and hoping to purchase drugs when they made contact with Grear at a gas station on June 15. Later that night, the women drove from their Super 8 motel on North I-35 to the 2100 block of Burton Drive in an attempt to pick up narcotics.

Instead, Grear and several other men held the women at gunpoint, tied them up, and raped them. Afterwards, two of the suspects took one survivor back to the hotel "to continue the robbery," said Manley. That survivor managed to escape and called 911.

According to Manley, the forensic evidence in this case has been prioritized. The crime labs APD has partnered with since the closing of their own lab last year have been notified of the incoming evidence. “These women are survivors,” Manley said. “I want to make sure we’re placing the blame on the suspects – where it belongs.”
