Travis County Republican Chairman Robert Morrow plans to protest Donald Trump, while the GOP presidential candidate visits Austin on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
The jester-hat wearing iconoclast has made national headlines for his incendiary criticisms, often laced with vulgarity, against both the Republican and Democratic establishment.
“Donald Trump’s psychopathy has been on full display on the national political stage for over a year,” said Morrow in a statement. “I want folks to know that Trump is a child rapist and that he is currently being sued in a civil action in NY federal courts for raping, slapping an 13-year-old girl at a Jeffrey Epstein party in 1994. Trump also threatened to murder the girl, now age 35 and a Jane Doe plaintiff, and also murder her family if she ever told how he (Trump) sexually abused her,” Morrow alleges.
Beating out the incumbent Travis County Republican Party chair in the March 1 Texas primary, Morrow was ushered into the post in June to the deep discomfort of the local GOP. The party has moved to severely restrict his power, which is fine by Morrow, who has continually (and proudly) admitted he’s only using the high-profile local role as a “bully pulpit” to promulgate his political views and brash “truth-telling.”
Despite applauding Trump for attacking his fellow Republican candidates and for quoting from a book he authored criticizing the Clintons, as a “small-L” Libertarian Morrow supports Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson for president, as he told the Chronicle on more than one occasion.
Morrow tells media he will be “easy to spot” at the Travis County Expo Center as he’ll don his jester’s cap and hold a large red sign that reads, “Trump is a Child Rapist.”
