No real surprises in the party primary runoffs tonight: far-right frother Dan Patrick beat incumbent Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst like a drum, a result echoed in the AG race, where criminal disgrace didn't upend Ken Paxton, who easily defeated Dan Branch. On the Dem side, David Alameel easily defeated Larouche-ite Kesha Rogers, for the U.S. Senate nominee.
In the Dem race for Ag Commissioner nominee, Richard "Kinky" Friedman may have strummed his last political chord, easily defeated by unknown and uncampaigning Cleburne insurance salesman Jim Hogan. Meanwhile, the Ancient Mariner of Rockwall County, 91-year-old U.S. Rep. Ralph Hall, was defeated by former U.S. attorney John "Term Limits" Ratcliffe, who only thinks like he's 90 years old.
