A postscript to the Hustle's column this week regarding the Kathie Tovo and Mike Levy show: The new Place 3 council member names more office staff, while Levy chimes in with a disclaimer all his own.
As we wrote, Tovo's already named Joi Harden, a Neighborhood Planning and Zoning city staffer, as a policy aide. Tovo also told us she was about to offer a second position in her office – one that's now been accepted by Shannon Halley. Halley will also serve as a policy aide; her previous city experience includes serving on the Urban Forestry Board, a position she was appointed to by council member Laura Morrison.
Also e-mailing us is Public Safety Commission lightning rod Levy, arguing “I have not publicly or privately been pushing for reappointment. I have assumed that I'm off. Honest!” While that may be the case, the media attention surrounding the appointment – not to mention the offer Chris Riley's appointment Aman Bandali apparently made, to offer Levy his seat should Riley wish to appoint him – suggest the story may not be over yet. That said, our apologies to Levy for writing he was "publicly pushing" for another council member to reappoint him.
