A new, old era is initiated at City Hall, with the return of the Wednesday work session, scheduled to start today at 1:30pm. Moreover, you can watch the whole thing live here.

The practice is an outgrowth of the Open Meetings brouhaha at City Hall. While the Hustle's largely agnostic regarding the charges leveled at council members, here's hoping these public work sessions will be some solid good to emerge outta this mess.

We'll keep our eye on today's proceedings, and report back to you later. Should be interesting to see how they go. And remember, tomorrow marks council's normal Thursday meeting, which you can preview here.

What the hell else is happening?

On the city calendar: The Water and Wastewater Commission meets at at Waller Creek Plaza, 625 East 10th, Room 104, 6pm.

The Animal Advisory Commission meets at Town Lake Center, 721 Barton Springs, 6pm.

The Solid Waste Advisory Commission meets at City Hall, Council Chambers, 6:30pm.

The Historic Landmark Commission meets at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs, Room 240, 6:30pm.
