Austin residents will get a chance to meet-and-greet the remaining finalists up for the top spot at the Austin Fire Dept. during a public meeting Monday, Nov. 3, at the Austin Convention Center.
City Manager Marc Ott will consider public input in making his final decision, so now is the time to get out there and meet the finalists, whittled from a list of seven to a final batch of four firefighters: Randy Bruegman, currently chief of the Fresno, Calif., FD; Niles Ford, chief of Lincoln, Neb., Fire and Rescue; Richard Garcia, chief of support services at the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue; and Rhoda Mae Kerr, chief of the Little Rock, Ark., FD.
Residents can meet the Fab Four at the Convention Center (500 E. Cesar Chavez St.) in Meeting Rooms 1 and 2 from 5:30 to 8:30p on Monday night.
