AUSTIN, Texas -- April 16, 2008 -- US Congressman Lloyd Doggett, State Representative Mark Strama, Austin Councilman Mike Martinez, and Glen Maxey are scheduled to address hundreds of Barack Obama supporters at a simultaneous nationwide "Nation 4 Change Rally", this Saturday, April 19th, 2008. Chris Wilson, a co-organizer and State Delegate from Senate District 14, will kick off this unprecedented event by introducing Congressman Doggett who is scheduled to speak at 12:30. State Representative Mark Strama , Austin City Council member Mike Martinez and Grassroots Organizer Glen Maxey will address the crowds shortly thereafter.

On Saturday April 19-th, 2008 thousands of individuals from all 50 states will be gathering together in cities across the nation and abroad for the "Nation for Change" Nationwide Rally in support of Barack Obama, just before the April 22nd primary in Pennsylvania.

"This is more than a rally." states Tammy Leffall, National Organizer, "It is a movement by a multitude of ordinary people looking to be part of an extraordinary event. They have been inspired and empowered by Sen. Obama and realize that they can contribute in a powerful and meaningful way to the change that we as a nation so desperately seek".

"We're here to celebrate together as a community, by showing Senator Obama that we are here for him" said Stephanie Fitzharris, co-organizer and founder of Lakeway Obama Fanatics. "Senator Obama brought us to the polls in March and, of course, we're here to seal the deal for him at our upcoming State convention. What he has done by delivering his message of Hope has awakened the better angels in all of us. It is the least we can do to show him our support and celebrate his movement together with other Obama supporters from coast to coast".

Dana Twombly, event coordinator, added, "We have over 20 local Obama groups that are sponsoring this 'Nation 4 Change Rally', and have volunteered to register voters, make phone calls to upcoming states, have fun activities for the kids and cheer on our local leaders!" Our support has never wavered, if anything, we have solidified our commitment to him. We look forward to being a part of this national rally!' 'Nations 4 Change Rally' is scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m., Saturday, April 19th, 2008 at Eastwoods Park, located at 3001 Harris Park Ave. 78705-3231, approximately 1 block north of E. 26th Street.
