Huber Whallops Gonzales in County Commish Precinct 3
Loser accuses party officials of dirty tricks

Albert Gonzales is accusing party officials of dirty tactics in his anticipated loss to opponent Karen Huber in the Democratic primary for Travis County Commissioner, Precinct 3. Gonzales said Huber was recruited by party officials because "they didn't think a Hispanic could win in Southwest Travis County."
"That's news to me," said Huber, who won by a healthy margin, garnering 63% of the vote.
Huber will face Republican incumbent Gerald Daugherty in November. Huber says her platform will include some of the items that came out of the Southwest Travis County Growth Dialog but remain unaddressed, such as a countywide transportation plan that manages west-side growth.
