The Pentavirate Sighted in East Austin!

Spot the hidden man in the Brian Thompson TV spot.

It's the kind of moment that often gets the blogosphere running wild: why, at the 25 second mark on Brian Thompson's TV ad entitled "Dawnna Dukes – Republican Tom Craddick – Tolls – Betrayal", is there a sinister, single-frame, subliminal image of … a man with a beard?

Hold your horses and land the black helicopters. According to the Thompson campaign, that's actually the voice-over guy. In an earlier edit of the spot, he was featured on-camera, explaining the supposed sins of Dukes in those avuncular tones of his, and wandering from room to room. The problem was that viewers went, "Who is that? Is that Thompson?" So the decision was made to re-edit to take him out, and just leave the voice. However, this one random frame got left in. So, no, the Illuminati are not running the Thompson campaign.

Check below the fold for the ad, and see if you can play "freeze-frame the voice-over guy." No, there are no prizes.
