Dem candidates will face off downtown

If you'd like to vet the two Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate (well, the two serious ones — I doubt perennial annoyance Gene Kelly will be invited), make plans to attend the monthly Central Texas Democratic Forum next week. State Rep. Rick Noriega of Houston and schoolteacher Ray McMurrey of Corpus Christi will face off and answer audience questions over lunch Downtown next Thursday, January 10, 11:45am-1pm. Program: The Democratic Candidates for United States Senate: Republican Senator John Cornyn has been egregiously bad, slavishly supporting the Bush Administration at every turn, from the Iraq War, to denial of health care for children, to a failed education program, etc. Two excellent Democratic candidates are vying to replace Cornyn: Ray McMurrey and Rick Noriega. Both have agreed to address the Forum. This will be an extremely important Senate race, so please join us.

About the Forum: The Forum meets monthly for lunch to hear Democratic speakers. Membership is $120/yr. Non-members may attend, but members have priority and receive discount prices for lunches.
