Message to Wal-Mart Clear: Stay Out

They did it - an unbroken human chain around the entire Northcross Mall block!

Wow, I really didn't think they could pull off, but they did so with ease: Responsible Growth for Northcross quite easily rounded up the needed people to completely surround Northcross Mall - most of them wearing red - and deliver the message to Lincoln Property that neighbors do not want a Wal-Mart as part of the redevelopment of the moribund mall. And not just around the mall itself, but around the entire block - an unbroken chain of people lining Anderson, Burnet Road, and Northcross Drive. Organizers estimated there were more than 2,000 people forming the chain. Next up: RG4N holds a benefit concert at 2pm today at Brentwood Tavern, 6701 Burnet Rd. See post below or go to the RG4N website for details.
