Cobalt Cracks the Crust

A genre-defying force in extreme metal, Colorado duo Cobalt emerged as the blackened doom-prog act behind masterpieces Eater of Birds (2007) and Gin (2009). Boogarins’ pop smarts, psychedelic atmospherics, and South American rhythms won over locals at both South by Southwest and Austin Psych Fest. Recording locally now permits the Brazilian quartet a four-weekend stand at Hotel Vegas, the first club they played outside their country. Levitation Kick-Off

If you checked social media Thursday night, you’d think the Reverb Appreciation Society had declared war on its fans in the wake of Levitation’s cancellation.
