Blues on the Green Postpones Zilker Park Shows
Season pulled one day out due to latest COVID-19 wave

Austin institution Blues on the Green announced postponement of the rest of its 2021 season, already shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Monday morning, presenters Austin City Limits Radio announced the decision “as a result of the latest wave in this public health emergency.” The free, outdoor shows were scheduled for August 10 and 11. The planned performances featuring Grupo Fantasma and Sir Woman followed the annual event’s well-attended return to Zilker Park last month.
Since then, Austin-Travis County has reentered Stage 5 COVID-19 restrictions due to surges in the Delta variant. In a statement shared to social media, ACL Radio called the decision “wholly our call,” thanking Austin Parks and Recreation and the local health officials. The station also shared:
“As soon as we know more about rescheduling these shows, we’ll share that information. Right now, this is the way. And in the meantime, we urge everyone to follow public health protocols laid out by the city and to get vaccinated so we can again enjoy free live music in Zilker Park.”
