SXSW Taps Baby Rose, Heart Bones & Laundry Day

By Kevin Curtin, February 13, 2020, 10:00am, Earache!

Two days after dropping a star-studded speaker roster, South by Southwest focuses back on the slow pour of their music talent pool. Highlighting today’s list: buzzing R&B voice Baby Rose, dramatic pop duo Heart Bones, and NYC quintet Laundry Day, who gun it hard in the indie boy band lane.

Also flying in for the festivities running March 16-22 are Iceland’s Artoffact Records-approved darkwavers Sólveig Matthildur, country songwriter Laura Cantrell, sadcore favorites Early Day Miners, and singer/violinist Sudan Archives, who turned a lot of heads at SXSW 2018.

Slow-n-low veteran Trae Tha Truth comes over from H-town, while freaky French dance pop duo Faux Real is sure to turn heads. Jumping into the fray as well: nerd rapper MC Chris, Ben Katzman’s pop metal act DeGreaser, and indietronic group +/-.

Once again, some of the best sounds come from the hometown. Austin acts making the mid-February cut include: Altamesa, Blushing, Clarence James, Color Candy, DJ Squake, DJ TradeMark, Dual Core, Duhrdy, Eimaral Sol, Grand Champeen, Hikes, JazzInspired, Ladi Earth, Lesly Reynaga, Peelander-Z, Portrayal of Guilt, Shirt Off Fe, Tone Royal, Ume, Urban Heat Island Effect, and Very Rich.
