Dungeon Family, Atlanta’s sprawling hip-hop and Southern funk supergroup anchored by Big Boi, Goody Mob, Sleepy Brown, and Organized Noize, will headline South by Southwest’s free stage at Auditorium Shores on Friday, March 15.
Comprised of artists and producers in the creative orbit of Outkast, the collective counts one sole LP: 2001’s Even in Darkness. Last month, the day after performing on the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Big Boi announced a reunion and Dungeon Family tour, which hits the road throughout April.
Austin-based rapper and songwriter Abhi the Nomad opens the show at 6pm. Two more performers are yet to be announced. SXSW previously unveiled the other two nights of their free Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake series: X Ambassadors top Thursday’s lineup, while Patty Griffin and Andrew Bird headline Saturday.
