SXSW List Lucky No. 7

South by Southwest, now less than five weeks away, expands its Music Week lineup with the addition of 112 acts including “Tomboy” rapper Princess Nokia, Canadian noiseniks Metz, country outlaw Nikki Lane, indie pop duo Tennis, and roots rock showstopper Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.

The mega-conference, running March 12-18 all over Austin, has also tapped Dessa, breakout MC from Minneapolis’ Doomtree collective, Tulsa songman John Calvin Abney, jazz/flamenco/indie instrumental trio City of the Sun, and Manchester grime rapper Bugzy Malone. Today’s edition of the weekly lineup drop brings the full list of performers to roughly 1,400 of what will ultimately be around 2,000. As usual, expect the biggest names to surface days – or minutes – before the festival.

Austin adds 24 artists to the scrum: Annabelle Chairlegs, BoomBaptist, Brian Pounds, Built By Snow, DJ D-Lite, Dual Core, Go DJ JB, Hard Proof, Jenny Reynolds, Lola Tried, Money Chicha, My Education, Neal Pollack Quintet, Peelander-Z, Pike & Sutton, Primo, Rebecca Loebe, Ringo Deathstarr, Swimming With Bears, Terminal Mind, Trouble Boys, Victorious, Wande, and Wearechxsen.

Side note: SXSW’s first round of Music wristbands has sold out, but they’ll release a limited amount on Thursday, Feb. 22, for $179 – available here.
