Help Corey Mitchell’s Family

By Richard Whittaker, November 4, 2014, 4:00pm, Earache!

As the family and friends of local author and Housecore Horror Film Festival co-founder Corey Mitchell gather today to mourn his loss, an online fundraising campaign has been launched to help his wife Audra and their two daughters, Emma and Sabrina.

Alongside all the tributes to Mitchell for his role as a champion for horror and metal in Central Texas, a reoccurring sentiment was how much he loved his family. In a statement launching the campaign, festival head Philip H. Anselmo wrote, “Corey was a great friend, writer, and most importantly a wonderful father. He leaves behind a loving wife and two bright, beautiful young daughters, Emma and Sabrina.

“We have set up this fundraiser to ensure support of his children. All funds go directly into an account set up for Emma and Sabrina. We would like to thank everyone who donates on behalf of Corey’s family and friends.”
