SXSW Music Wristbands On Sale at 10am Today

South By’s first queue wraps around the block online only

SXSW Music Wristbands On Sale at 10am Today

Today marks the day South by Southwest draws first blood. As of 10am this morning, wristbands for the conference’s Music festival – running March 11-16 – are available for purchase at $169 a pop.

A SXSW Music wristband allows individuals to jump ahead of mere cover chargees at lines for showcases, putting them behind only those holding badges. Wristbands can’t attend conference panels (sometimes you need stinkin’ badges), but they can hop from venue to venue each night for an all-inclusive fee.

A whole slew of details regarding purchase and pickup follows the announcement. Here’s the dossier, with the fine print herein:

“Sales are limited to Austin area residents. All advance sales will be online. Individuals may purchase one wristband for themselves and one for another person whose name must be provided at the time of purchase. Online purchase requires a credit card with a billing zip code in the Austin area.

“[Purchases and] a list of zip codes available at wristbands.sxsw.com.”

UPDATE: The first batch of SXSW 2014 Music Festival Wristbands have sold out. SXSW opened sales for the second batch of Music Festival Wristbands this morning at 10am. Only difference is Wristbands now sell for $189 per ‘band.
