Jurassic 5 mainstay revisits ATX on Sunday

Fun Fun Fun Fest Video: 5 Minutes with Chali 2na

Fun Fun Fun Fest arrives today, so we dusted off an old interview with Jurassic 5 fixture Chali 2na, plus local MC and Friday FFF opener (Blue stage, 12:10pm) Phranchyze.

2na’s a class act. Not only did he invite his opening acts to share the Parish stage with him when he rolled through on Aug. 22nd, but he enthusiastically took up my microphone when I asked him for an unscheduled interview backstage.

Still one of the most recognizable voices in hip-hop, 2na discusses the origins of the genre, why he prefers painting over video games, and his recent cameo with Drew Barrymore.
