Final Lineup for Old Settler’s Announced

By Jim Caligiuri, February 6, 2013, 1:30pm, Earache!

While we’re all in over our heads with the upcoming South by Southwest, let’s not forget April 18-21 brings another Old Settler’s Music Festival to the Salt Lick. This week, OSMF announced its final lineup for the 26th annual four-day camp out in Driftwood. It’s the most diverse roster ever for the roots music fest.

With long time favorites like Peter Rowan, Fred Eaglesmith, and Del McCoury joined by funkateer Michael Franti, a reunited Son Volt, and UK soulman James Hunter (also at SXSW), the Hill Country’s rite of spring mixes it up like never before. As always, there will be more than enough bluegrass with the participation of Jerry Douglas, IIIrd Tyme Out, and locals Green Mountain Grass, Wood & Wire, and MilkDrive.

Young “suspender folk” acts the Dunwells and Elephant Revival round things out along with highly anticipated sets from the Reivers, Justin Townes Earle, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Leftover Salmon, and Martin Sexton. Given it’s perfect rustic setting and mild weather, this year’s 26th annual Old Settler’s Music Fest possesses special potential.

Here’s some highlights from last year’s OSMF. And of course the 2013 talent. Show times are forthcoming.
