Fun Fun Fun Fest's Got The Time

Nah, we're just kidding. The local all-things-loud-and-cool festival has dropped its lineup, with the big news that the reformed Run-D.M.C. are Friday's headliners.

The full three day, four stage grid is up now at www.funfunfunfest.com, and of course that means the one day passes are also finally on sale at $75 a day. First sets are kicking off just before midday every day, but that dreaded 10pm curfew at Auditorium Shores means the last notes are scheduled for 9.50pm.

Looks like LA punk innovators X will be closing out Friday early, so for anyone split between catching their show and the return of Hollis' own kings of rock, there'll be no difficult Danzig/Public Enemy dilemma like last year.

Speaking of 2011, there's one big change. Last year, the yellow stage featured comedy and spoken word right through the night. This year, the comedy finishes every day at 5.30pm, before the big amps rolls out to close the day.

Personally, looking down deeper in the schedules, Saturday gives me the biggest clashing headache, with local metal gods The Sword, punky faves Peelander Z, and the unstoppable majesty of Public Image Ltd. going head to slamming head. Gah. Fortunately, they've also dropped the FFF Nites schedule, with a whole bunch of bands (including yes! Peelander-Z!) pulling aftershow double duty.

Now we just have to hope for no repeat of 2011's dustbowl, and we're all good to go.
