Songs for the Proud

Dance yer hearts out, queers!

June might be the universal Pride month, but it’s the arrival of August that marks Pride for us Austin queermos. And there’s no better way to celebrate this year’s nearly two weeks of Pride shenanigans than dancing yer hearts out to some good ol’ queer tunes.

Here’s a playlist highlighting everything from the classics (we see you, Whitney), to local "dyke rock" icons Two Nice Girls, to our newer jams – think pop punk à la Against Me! or some hip hop via her highness Princess Nokia. So smash shuffle, getcher groove on, and happy Purrride!

If you're looking for a little more queer to spice up your Pride festivities, check out this week's "Gay Place" column and stop by our Pride page, devoted to all things Austin Pride 2018 and .
