The AggreGAYtor: May 14

By David Estlund, May 14, 2014, 9:30am, Qmmunity

Harvey Milk breaks more closet doors, Houston capitulates to bathroom panic, and the Bible reveals its one holy unassailable interpretation, as your AggreGAYtor counts its thingamabobs.

The Good

Six Flags Over Georgia is celebrating “Rainbow Days, the Stonewall Edition” (volume warning: autoplay audio with real-live Atlanta accents).

Harvey Milk gets a stamp.

Martha Coakley gets the MassEquality seal of approval.

The Bad

We've all been rooting for Mary Ann Barclay. Yesterday was a particularly sad and disappointing day for her. Somehow, this powerhouse keeps the faith.

Houston drops bathroom protections from its nondiscrimination measure, losing the endorsement of the Transgender Education Network of Texas in the process.

AIDS hit America much harder than Europe, the main reasons being labor mobility, puritanical denialism, and a broken healthcare system.

Georgia’s prison system is denying trans inmates medical treatment, but the SPLC has stepped up.

The Fugly

Although same-sex marriage is now legal in Arkansas, only five clerks are participating.

The absolutes of the Bible (as interpreted by white male evangelical conservatives) are apparently the only possibility that can hold society together (rebuttal here).
