I'm Chitty Chitty Bang Bang spectacular, so let's jump back in.
"Monomania" Deerhunter
The first taste from their upcoming Monomania is a bit tuneless, but it's good to hear Bradford and company bring back the dissonance of their early work. Check out this warped performance of the song on Fallon for a laugh.
"Childhood's End" Majical Cloudz
This newcomer's voice is gorgeous, the ballad is hypnotic, and Brandon likes 'em, so that is enough to make me want to hear more, despite the corny lyrics.
"Bow Down/I Been On" Beyonce
Le Yonce gives us a lil' p-tease treat – of what we hope is an upcoming 2013 album – with these two sexy snippets of hip pop.
"Diane Young" Vampire Weekend
I was fully ready to hate this after Contra, but there's something punk rock about this silly funk song, and it takes a lot of interesting sonic turns.
"Entertainment" Phoenix
These fun-loving Frenchies are back with more of their snappy new wave pop. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, just add a little M83.
"Brennisteinn" Sigur Rós
Jónsi and his pixies have gone goth, and it's a welcome change for a band that has sounded the same for over a decade.
