'Chef' Film Opens Today in Austin
Though Jon Favreau's film Chef debuted in Austin at the South by Southwest Film Festival earlier this year, it finally opens here today. When Favreau and some of his co-stars were in Austin in March, they hosted a media party and cooking demo at Qui restaurant. Turns out there was a real chef at the heart of the story.

'The Grand Budapest Hotel' a Delightful Confection
I've never been able to muster much enthusiasm for the films of Wes Anderson. I didn't attend the recent local premiere of The Grand Budapest Hotel and I might not have seen it at all if it hadn't been for an invitation to the Alamo Drafthouse feast created to complement the movie. Turns out, I was totally charmed by both.

Alamo Drafthouse Goes All Out for Gatsby Opening
It's safe to say the creative team at the Alamo Drafthouse is getting into the spirit of Baz Luhrmann’s opulent new film, The Great Gatsby, unlike any other theatre in the country. They've designed both food and cocktail menus to celebrate the opening of the film and are throwing a flapper costume party in the bargain.
