New Italian-Inspired Cafe Opens in Mueller This Weekend

By Melanie Haupt, September 1, 2023, 2:55pm, On the Range

The Mueller restaurant scene welcomes its newest addition at 2100 Robert Browning St. tomorrow with Bottega, an Italian-inspired cafe with light bites, coffee, and ice cream. Once all licenses have been approved, the shop will also offer a variety of wines and beers.

Bottega is a partnership between Gregory Maze of Merry Monarch Creamery, Kati Luedecke of Neighbors Dog Park & Coffee Shop, and Chef Rudy Rivera III formerly of Wink.

The cafe menu, curated by Rivera, includes snacky fare like stone fruit bruschetta, garden toasts, a tinned fish board, and charcuterie and paté from Casero, which turned its storefront over to the Bottega folks in order to focus more on catering. Maze, who has earned accolades and a cult following from his trailer on Burnet Road, will bring his popular, globally influenced artisanal ice cream in flavors like Oreo miso, mango sticky rice, and POG cheesecake with fresh orange curd to the cafe, which will have a walk-up window in addition to indoor and outdoor seating.

Bottega opens at 2pm on Saturday, September 2. Its walkup hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 7am to 2pm and Saturday from 8am to 2pm. Its indoor hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 5pm to 9pm, Saturday from 5 to 9pm, and Sunday from 8am to 2pm and 5 to 9pm. Outdoor dining will be available all day.
