Yes, citizen, it’s your “Food News Buffet” for the second week of March, as a certain local festival that began as a backyard music party in 1987 continues to supercharge global culture …
Otopia Rooftop in the Otis Hotel (1901 San Antonio St. #1100) is one of the venues in town hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party this Friday, 5-11pm, and theirs will offer a plethora of light bites, a themed cocktail or green beer, and a live DJ – 11 stories above the skyline… And don’t think the Domain shies away from the wearin’ o’ the green, not when Punch Bowl Social (11310 Domain Dr.) has their own celebration going – with bowling and Skee-Ball, and some perhaps tipsy karaoke opps available, among all the drink specials. ’Course the Downtown Punch Bowl (522 Congress) will also be rockin’ the clover this weekend…
Central Market’s latest themed promotion comes just in time for all your springtime grilling activities. Because it’s Feed the Fire week at both locations, during which the popular store’s in-house butchers and sausage meisters will flex their protein muscles as they showcase the largest meat selection in the state. Raw proteins? Kebabs? Tomahawk steaks? Yeah, they’ll have you well covered, March 22-28, citizen…
And on the west side of town, at Hotel Viata (320 Capital of Texas Hwy. S.) on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, chef Tommy Suddeth is preparing to offer the beautiful venue’s first Long Table Dinner of 2023, accompanying his delicious, family-style fare with pairings of cocktails from the talented whiskey wizards of Treaty Oak Distilling. That’s on Thursday, March 23, at 6pm, so grab those tickets while you can…
The Dripping Springs Brewers Festival is coming up on Sat., March 25, with more local, thirst-quenching craft suds than you can shake a beer stein at. Suggestion: Get yourself a wristband ($25 for eight tastings, $40 for unlimited) and drink to your palate’s joy while listening to live music from Jankey and Monte Good…
A new cocktail bar and seafood restaurant, Bill’s Oyster, is scheduled to open in Downtown’s 2nd Street District in April. That’s at 205 W. Third, to be specific, and the mighty mollusky place – founded by friends Stewart Jarmon and Daniel Berg – will be open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunches…
