Field Guide Festival Announces Full Chef & Farmer Lineup

, September 8, 2021, 2:35pm, On the Range

We tried to warn you – we did!

We figured this first annual Field Guide FestivalFri.-Sat., Oct. 29-30 – was gonna sell out faster than hotcakes at a syrup factory, so we told you about it weeks ago.

But – look! – Saturday tickets are still available.

Yes, you may have missed booking Friday’s incredible feast at Rain Lily Farm, but Saturday’s day-long celebration at Fiesta Gardens (beginning with a dawn’s-early-light Comedor Run Club journey, if you wish) will bring a Revival Brunch prepared by Daniel Cacheaux (The Well), Christina Currier (Comedor), Jules Stoddart (Olamaie), Joe & Kasey Diffie (Joe’s Organics), Tara Chapman (Two Hives Honey), and Ben McConnell (Bouldin Food Forest) – and it’ll be accompanied by juices, wine, and other drink pairings.

And then, following those sumptuous Revival noms, you’ll continue your wandering way among the festive booths arrayed around Fiesta Gardens, grazing through many dishes, all presented as a collaboration between each pair of chef-and-farmer partners.

And those chefs? Rosie Mina-Truong + Kevin Truong (Fil 'n Viet), Fiore Tedesco (L'Oca d'Oro), Edgar Rico (Nixta Taqueria), Tebi & Trinh Nguyen (Le Bleu), Nick Belloni (Trill Foods), Jo Chan (Eberly), Ariana Quant (Uchi/Uchiko), Abby Searles (Carpenter’s Hall), Anthony Sobotik (Lick Ice Cream), Krystal Craig & Ian Thurwachter (Intero), Ji Peng Chen (Wu Chow), and Tracy Malechek (Birdie’s).

And those farmers? Bill McCranie (Chickamaw Farm), Julia Poplawsky (Cielito Lindo Farm), Matt Simon (New Leaf Agriculture), Sean Henry + Cory Nellissen (Hi-Fi Mycology), Jenna Kelly-Landes (Bee Tree Farm), David Barrow (Eden East Farm), Ryan Farnau (F-Stop Farm), Aubrey & Perrine Noelke (Belle Vie Farm), Montana Stovall (Montana's Dancing Bear Farm), Stacy Coplin & Eric Knight (Local Leaf), Jordan & Leigh'Ann Andrews (Billie & Jean’s Farm), and Smallhold.

Are you impressed yet? We’re impressed: This is an event like none other, and this is a day of innovative conversation, connection, and cookouts with those who make our Austin food economy special.
