Miami’s Fun Wine Is Launching In Texas

By Wayne Alan Brenner, May 2, 2021, 2:00am, On the Range

If wine isn’t fun, what is it? Just an alcoholic drink made from the fermented juice of grapes.

Fun Wine, though, is the first brand to put a wine drink in a 330-milliliter aluminum bottle, with a formulation that boasts monk fruit and new flavors.

[Note: The flavors include Peach Passion Moscato, Coconut Chardonnay, Strawberry Rosé Moscato (pictured), Sangria, Espresso Cabernet, and Cappuccino Chardonnay. And those also come in more traditional 750-milliliter glass bottles.]

Fun Wine – an “alternative to traditional wine,” a “refreshing and flavor-packed bubbly wine with mass appeal and eye-catching packaging,” a wine that is “not intimidating or stuck up, so people of all ages can enjoy it” – is based in Miami, Florida. But company founder and CEO Joe Peleg is launching his lightly carbonated collections of “Hard Bubbly” right here in the Lone Star State first.

“I chose Texas based on understanding the state's consumer diversity, cultural devotion, and active lifestyles,” says Peleg. “Another contributing factor was, Texas is one of the leading markets in the country for low-ABV flavored wine sales.”

[Note: Fun Wines’ ABV is 5.5% – and just 59 calories per five-ounce pour.]

When Fun Wine bottles eventually show up in Austin, with the colorful packaging design by Miami's Miguel Parades, you won’t be able to miss ‘em.
