Hai Hospitality Announces New Concept
Loro to open in fall 2017

We know what you’re thinking. It’s been a reeealllly long time since Hai Hospitality has opened anything in Austin, completely ignoring our fair city since St. Philip was the 2015 canary in the coal mine to last year’s great restaurant reaping. But 2017 is a new year. If we survive the rise of Cheetolini, we’ll have Loro to look forward to.
Details remain thin, but the owners of Uchi and Uchiko bill Loro as an Asian smokehouse featuring grilled and smoked meats, joining the recently opened Kemuri in making this year’s first hospitality trend. “Loro gives our group a chance to try [and] expand on fare that we hint at on our specials at Uchi,” says chef Tyson Cole in a release. “The space will be airy and inviting, the indoors and outdoors will feel very connected, guests order at the bar and the vibe will be comfortable and casual.”
The new space will be located at the corner of South Lamar and Oltorf at 2115 S. Lamar, and will feature an oak-shaded patio. A full bar will serve wine, beer, and cocktails.
