Amplify amps up, Stiles Switch gets musical, and other morning bites.
Casey’s New Orleans Snowballs is now open for their 19th season, but you probably already knew because you have been stalking them since last season, creep. Luckily, you no longer have to leave your makeshift bunker unguarded while you make a trip to the ATM. For the first time ever, Casey’s is accepting credit cards. Sorry, they still don’t accept Bitcoin.
Amplify Austin, the annual 24-hour online giving day for local nonprofits, starts this evening at 6pm. Several food-related organizations are taking part this year (along with a host of others who do great work in our community) including Capital Area Food Bank of Texas, Sustainable Food Center, Farmshare Austin, Green Corn Project, Urban Roots, and Farmgrass. Find more information and give here.
It’s a tale as old as time. Uncle Harry Larry, the Li’l Sebastian of Levelland, is stuck in the Panhandle after coming upon some difficulties en route to Llama’s Peruvian trailer, where he had planned to make a special appearance March 17 and 18 during SXSW. But this llama drama doesn’t have to end on a low note. For $3, you can buy VIP pass that gets you priority access to the celebrity camelid, plus a free lucuma ice cream and alfajor cookie dessert, and the eternal gratitude of all selfie takers everywhere. Passes available here.
If you want to get away from all the hullabaloo but still not entirely be overtaken by FOMO, Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew is bringing back their SXStilesSwitch music showcase between March 16-19 featuring Texas singer-songwriters. Check out the lineup here.
