Pranom Pop-Up Comes to Austin
California street food chef cooking weekly

Thai chef Dream Kasestatad made a name for himself in Los Angeles preparing pad thai and delivering it to hungry bar customers on his bicycle. Here in Austin, he's presenting a weekly pop-up series at a hip bicycle-themed bar, bringing his business full circle.
Chef Kasestatad's Los Angeles cooking exploits were so well-known they earned him a spot in food and travel writer Farley Elliott's new book, Los Angeles Street Food: A History from Tamaleros to Taco Trucks (American Palate). In conjunction with the books release this month, Kasestatad turns out to be cooking on some very different streets.
The Wheel is a snug watering hole in Central East Austin. On Wednesday evenings, Kasestatad whips up delectable Thai street food specialties that can be paired with some of the Wheel's custom craft cocktails or a good cold beer.
Kasestatad kicked off the series last week with a yellow curry called Khao Soi, a noodle dish made with coconut milk, pickled mustard greens, red onions, bean sprouts, cilantro, and lime, topped with fried garlic, onions, and wonton noodles. The menu offering will change weekly, with meat dishes priced in the range of $9-12 and vegetarian plates between $7-9. This week, drunken noodles and Pad See Ew will be offered.
