The Golden Goose Coming to South Lamar
New bar will take over historic Horseshoe Lounge space

Longtime friends Jason Steward, of Bungalow and Bar 2211, and Sean Fric of J. Black's Feel Good Kitchen & Lounge, announced today they're bringing the Golden Goose to the former home of the beloved Horseshoe Lounge in South Austin.
In today's press release, Steward and Fric say they consider themselves extremely lucky to have "acquired such an iconic location and have very large shoes to fill in Austin's bar landscape." Their plans call for the Golden Goose to be a comfortable, unpretentious neighborhood spot decorated with vintage neon lighting – a place where it's possible to relax and unwind with music from a jukebox stocked with a catalog of classic selections.
In deference to the iconic Horseshoe and its loyal customers, the Golden Goose will have its own custom shuffleboard table. However, the new bar will sell cocktails and accept credit cards for payment. In today's press release Sean Fric says, "We plan to keep it simple. You'll find great music, ice-cold beer, well-made cocktails, and a friendly staff. We look forward to seeing you at the Goose soon."
The projected opening date of the Golden Goose (2034 S. Lamar) is May of 2015. For more details, contact info@thegooseaustin.com or on social media @TheGooseAustin.
