Tomorrow, Saturday, March 29, Salvation Pizza will celebrate its eighth year in business with a "Glimmer-versary," a benefit for Glimmer of Hope Austin.

From noon to 4pm, patrons can enjoy complimentary pizza, salad, and appetizers on the deck and in the restaurant, along with family-friendly games and live music. The restaurant will donate 100% of all contributions received at the party, as well as 25% of weekend sales to the charity, which provides funding for disadvantaged Austin children to attend top-notch summer camps, as well as other enrichment activities.

Salvation, owned by Michael Dinsmore, has quietly been serving New Haven-style pizza in the North University neighborhood (624 W. 34th) for nearly a decade and soon plans to expand operations. A Rainey Street location is in the works, as well as a location near Rundberg Lane and Metric Boulevard.
