Formula 1 Brings the Speed and the Hits

Hamilton hopes to win it all, Spears and Mars look to get you dancing

Arguably the most exciting race of the year, Formula 1 is returning to Austin for a jam-packed weekend full of racing, car shows, and live music. Taking place Oct. 18 to Oct. 21, F1 promises to entertain with performances from Bruno Mars and Britney Spears.

Lewis Hamilton, winner of the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix

The race itself is expected to be extremely entertaining considering Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas look to shorten the gap with reigning Formula 1 champion, Lewis Hamilton.

Coming off exceptional performances in the Japanese and Russian Grand Prix, Hamilton, who currently leads Vettel and Bottas by 67 and 124 points respectively, is expected to take home his fifth straight United States Grand Prix title. In fact, Hamilton will be able to secure the title of “Season Champion” if he wins and if Vettel places third or lower.

According to Hamilton himself, he is confident and can’t wait to “Unleash [the] beast” in Austin. Robert Doornbos, former Formula One contestant, states Vettel has fallen 67 points behind Hamilton due to his constant blunders on the race track. For example, in the Germany Grand Prix, Vettel made a risky decision that caused him to lose control of his vehicle and subsequently crash. The crash forced Vettel to forfeit his lead in the race. In the end, Vettel was not able to finish while his arch rival Hamilton finished first.

A virtually identical scenario took place at the Italian Grand Prix where a crash forced Vettel to finish fourth. Despite his constant blunders, Vettel hopes that he can keep his title hopes alive with a victory in Austin.

Although the race is the main event, performances by Bruno Mars and Britney Spears are expected to be explosive. Bruno Mars’ October 20 performance will be a part of his 24K Magic world tour that has already sold over 240 million dollars worth of tickets world wide.

Britney Spears however, just finished her Look at Me tour and will be performing a one-off performance. Jakubi, DJ Mel, and Chorizo Funk among others are also expected to perform.

Along with concerts and races, Formula 1 provides attendees with the opportunity to have lunch with former Formula 1 legend Michael Andretti. This is just one of the cool opportunities provided to attendees.

All in all, Formula 1 weekend promises to be an action-packed event filled with attractions suitable for all demographics. Grab your tickets now.
