Austin loves its local businesses, and the AIBA is making sure it stays that way this local business month. Patrons can expect discounts and specials at some of their favorite shops and join the celebration during the Armadillo Awards on April 29.

Other than voting for your faves in the Armadillo Awards, there’s no better way to show your local love than spending your day(and dollars) at regional businesses. Here's a quick guide to doing Austin in a day.

• Kerbey Lane Cafe

Start your day with breakfast at Kerbey Lane Cafe. With 6 locations, including South Lamar and the Central location they’ve made sure that every Austinite can get their fill of great locally grown food.

But seriously, who could say no to this?

• Dharma Yoga

Prefer to start your day with a little zen? Dharma Yoga offers classes and special workshops for a variety of skill levels and preferences.

• Room Service Vintage

Whether you’re furnishing your new place or satisfying your inner pack rat, Room Service Vintage offers stylish decor from a time when wall-to-wall wood paneling was still cool. Stop in and pick up those (extra)throw pillows you’ve been thinking about or find something you can’t live without.

• Waterloo Records

With in-store performances and a great music selection, this Austin staple pretty much sells itself.

• South First

South First street has great spots like Diamonds are Evil, South Austin Gallery and Soul Rebel Vintage. Grab lunch at the South First Trailer Park and Eatery where you’ll find Conscious Cravings, Torchy’s and Holy Cacao. Don't forget to take a stroll down SoCo while in the area.

• Alamo Drafthouse

If retail therapy isn’t your thing then maybe you can get your local fix through film. Alamo Drafthouse offers the latest releases and cult classics. The food isn’t half bad either.

• Spiderhouse Ballroom

You can't end a day in Austin without a live show. Check out Spiderhouse Ballroom's newest residency, NGHT HCKLRS, or weekly events like the Austin Mic Exchange or Austin Poetry Slam.
