As awesome as memes and cat videos are, nothing beats charitable causes on social media. The folks at Spredfast are in the holiday spirit and want us to #BeNiceandSocial.
Spredfast has chosen five local organizations that do great work for families, children, and health in our community. They want you to decide which charity should receive a donation and day of service from the Spredfast team by voting here.
Boys and Girls Club of Austin provides afterschool activities and mentoring programs to help children realize their full potential.
Girlstart provides year-round education programs in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields for K-12 girls.
Meals on Wheels Austin is a part of the Senior Nutrition Program that delivers healthy meals and safety checks for seniors living independently.
Urban Roots uses food and farming to transform the lives of young people and engage and nourish the community.
Austin Habitat for Humanity builds affordable, energy efficient, quality homes for families in Central Texas.
The campaign ends December 17, so go to the Spredfast website to learn more and vote!
A note to readers: Bold and uncensored, The Austin Chronicle has been Austin’s independent news source for over 40 years, expressing the community’s political and environmental concerns and supporting its active cultural scene. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue supplying Austin with independent, free press. If real news is important to you, please consider making a donation of $5, $10 or whatever you can afford, to help keep our journalism on stands.
