The dance fiends of Sacramento return to the Mohawk

Audio Hype: !!! (CHK CHK CHK)

How would you like to be a rockstar for four minutes and three seconds? !!! (chk chk chk) is currently taking submissions for one of their fans to help them sing "One Girl/One Boy" on stage at the Mohawk this Saturday night.

This rare, crowd sourced audition helps !!! replace singer Sonia Moore while she skips the tour. Instantly, we thought of the story when Keith Moon ingested too many horse tranquilizers, passed out mid-show, and The Who picked out an audience member who "played drums" to finish their set. Maybe that's a stretch, but this opportunity is fantastic regardless.

Here are the directions they posted on their website:

"Upload a youtube video of you singing along or send an mp3 to singwithchk@gmail.com. No big deal, just you in front of the mirror singing into the hairbrush style will do. We’ll sift through the entries and holler at you if you’ve got what it takes. You’ll of course be judged on your vocal ability, but dance moves and star quality definitely help. If anything, it’s a free ticket for you and your bff for the show. No flakes, no egos, no drug problems."

Aside from this most excellent opportunity from a world renown band, !!! plays some of the most danceable music I have ever encountered in a live act. Honestly, an infant with two left feet and motion sickness could dance to !!!. Their new album, Thr!!!er, adds another mile to their marathon of dance albums. Using a combination of live instruments and programmed beats, this band from Sacramento spins a light hearted, feel-good, smiling-stunner of a show.

Disclaimer: Be prepared to break a sweat and don't forget to bring a towel. !!! will be at Mohawk tomorrow (May 25th) with Shockwave Riderz opening. All ages, doors at 8pm, grab tickets here!
