New Year’s Eve is a day to reflect on time passed and to plan for time ahead, but most importantly, it’s a night to party.

With Austin as our hometown (or for anyone who might be lucky enough to visit for the holiday), there are copious amounts of bands to be heard, drinks to be drank, bars to be visited and all around partying to be had. So welcome all the vices that you’ll resolve to sacrifice tomorrow and relish in the glory of one year’s end and a new one’s beginning… and the badass party that separates the two.

Willie Nelson & Friends: Family New Year at ACL Live
The one and only Willie Nelson is home again and, as usual, he’s bringing his friends: Grammy award-winning band, The Mavericks (12/30) and beloved ACL-vets, Iron & Wine (12/31). On the 31st, Andy Langer will host the show where there will be an appearance by Father Time and a champagne toast by Woodbridge Sparkling at midnight.
Doors: 6:30 PM / Show: 8:00 PM
Tickets: $59.50 and up

W Austin NYE Celebration / Coast-to-Coast
at the W Hotel
With locations coast-to-coast, the W Hotel is using their W New York, W Scottsdale and W Hollywood time zones as an excuse to countdown THREE times, each one complete with a champagne toast. Chronicle-favorites, Quiet Company, will be headlining along with performances by The TonTons and DJs I Wanna Be Her and Bird Peterson. Event includes open bar and dinner-by-the-bite.
Doors: 8:30 PM
Tickets: $175 for General Admission and $250 for VIP. Prices will increase after 12/19; Buy your ticket before then and you’ll automatically by entered for a chance to win an overnight stay after the party.

New Year’s Eve Party with Neon Indian at Mohawk
Check out Neon Indian performing "Hex Girlfriend" at The Museum of Modern Art in NYC and you’ll see why starting 2013 with them is an excellent choice.

Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears at Emo's
Because you should ring in the New Year a little scandalously and with a lot of soul, Sugarfoot. (Plus, we really, really heart Emo’s.)

T Bird & the Breaks with Henry + The Invisibles at Stubb’s
Complete with a buffet and midnight toast, chunk musicians, T Bird & the Breaks, and one-man punk band, Henry + The Invisibles, will have you hip-hoppin’, rockin’, rollin’, and coffee-can-bangin’ all night long. All ages.

The White Horse Black and White New Year’s Eve Ball at The White Horse
The Austin Chronicle’s Best of Austin 2012 award-winner for Best New Bar hosts a NYE bash complete with Papercuts Live Music Series alum, Sons of Fathers, along with East Cameron Folkcore and Clyde and Clem’s Whiskey Business.

Blue Man Group at The Long Center
"One of the most delightful performance pieces ever staged,” according to The New York Times, and appropriate for all ages, cultures and languages, so gather everyone you love and enjoy an unforgettable show. Continues through January 2nd.

Bob Schneider’s New Year’s Eve at The Paramount
Welcome 2013 with Austin-local and Austin-loved Bob Schneider with Saints of Valory at this iconic Austin venue.

New Year’s Eve at Cheer-Up Charlie’s

12th annual B.A.R.E.N.Y.E. at Speakeasy
On Sunday, December 30th, celebrate a night early at the 12th annual Bar And Restaurant Employee NYE for all the service industry employees or anyone else who wants to come out to pre-party for New Year’s Eve.
Doors: 8 PM
Tickets: FREE cover, countdown at midnight, champagne toast, balloon drops, giveaways and much more.

The Gourds' New Years Eve Masquerade Ball at Austin Scottish Rite Theater
Returning home after a yearlong tour for their most recent album Old Mad Joy, The Gourds are rocking in the New Year in their hometown with nothing other than a masquerade ball!
Doors: 8:00 pm / Show: 10:00 pm
Tickets: $30

Keys N Krates w/ DJ Mel at Lambert’s BBQ
Get down Fancy BBQ-style with Keys N Krates and DJ Mel, including open bar, champagne toast and late-night meal.

New Year’s Eve 1984 Party at Hotel Vegas, The Volstead, and Pine Street Station
One ticket gets you into all three venues with a shuttle to move you in between. Catch The Bad Lovers, Dikes of Holland, Dead Space and more performing your favorite 80’s hits.
Doors: 7:00 pm
Tickets: $13 in advance / $15 at the door
