Friday, Jul 20
Beauty Ballroom

Every month, the Beauty Ballroom will host a gallery opening featuring local fashion designers and artists. Guests are invited to view the pieces while sipping on signature Beauty Ballroom cocktails, and mingle with the featured artists, as well as with other local fashion industry professionals. This month’s event is created and produced by Jennifer McCarty, the principal designer behind the label Cerf d’ Saint, and includes the works of Coco Coquette, Eatyour HeartOut, and Hope Perkins. The neon theme was a perfect choice for designers who are all known for using aureate and overblown colors and audacious designs. Event is free, 7-10PM, more details available online.

Open Ears Concerts Presents Bill Chambers

Friday, Jul 27 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church

There's much more to Bill Chambers than just being Kasey's dad. The patriarch of the Chambers clan is considered by some to be Australia's premier alt-country guitarist. He can be a master of delicate picking on dobro or lap steel and a demon on slide. Along with producing albums for the likes of Catherine Britt, Audrey Auld, Bec Willis (co-produced with Kasey) and the Dead Ringer Band, Bill has still found time to write most of the songs on his albums - the ARIA nominated "Sleeping With The Blues," "Frozen Ground," and his most recent, "Drifting South."
Open Ears Concerts is a monthly non-profit series that presents established and emerging artists, mainly in acoustic genres such as folk, bluegrass, world, and jazz. Bring a dish to share in our potluck dinner/desserts and enjoy free fair-trade coffee in a family-friendly, peaceful, listener-oriented environment. Doors open and potluck begins at 6:30 pm. Mo McMorrow and Richard Bowden open the show at 7:30. All ages are welcome. $10 suggested donation, but no one will be turned away.
