From Driftwood to Bastrop, there are authentic souvenirs this week to reward your travels.

South Austin Estate of ex-Air Force photographer and Fifties' Homemaker
This is an interesting sale for collectors of, among other things, militaria, cameras, art photography, lighters, watches, Hawaiiana, and aviation and automobile ephemera. Whispering Oaks was home to this lovely couple. Master Sergeant Louis Lee was a career Army Air Force photographer who served in WWII, in Korea, and the Vietnam era, and was stationed in Japan, Hawaii, the UK, and various USAF bases. The love of his life, Doris "Mac" Lee, also served during World War II, taking part in an interesting traveling exhibit called "Shot from the Sky," and as an AWAC and a homemaker. You'll find still and movie cameras (Voigtlander Objectiv, Mimiya, Polaroid, Minolta Rolleiflex Kodak), photography materials, professional prints, numerous black and white prints in various sizes, predominantly 8x10, shot by M/Sgt. Louis Lee, including: military planes both on the ground and in the air, missiles and unique aircraft, aerials of bombings, military mechanics working on planes, military photographers on location in London, officers and personnel interacting, USO events including Bob Hope, other celebrities. Randomly shot not posed, of the Lone Ranger and Tonto and Silver, events with Jimmy Stewart and President Richard Nixon; black and white and color prints by M/Sgt. Louis Lee, some matted, including: military planes in the air, race cars, portraits, and abstracts, some of which he won photography awards for: 305th Bombardment Group 15th and 8th Air Force Division, Air Force Missile Development Center Strategic Air Command, Tactical Air Command AF Systems Command, Air Research Development Command, and 67th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron. Automobile memorabilia: 1955 Austin Healey 100 hand book, service manual emblems, badges. Datsun 240 280 ZX ephemera, Elmore scrapbook from 1900's.
