From the Hands of Babes: Notions 2.5
McCallum High Student Fashion Show
By Anne Harris, 3:33PM, Wed. Oct. 30, 2013

The McCallum High School student fashion show, "Notions 2.5 Inspired Couture" , happens this Saturday, November 2. This year, student designers were challenged to create design based on their favorite music.
The competitive part of the show will demonstrate designers' reconstructed work, and the winning piece will be auctioned, with the proceeds going to Goodwill Industries.
MacCallum students, faculty, staff, and alumni will become runway models for a night in this fully student-produced show, and will be recorded for posterity by photographer Dale Rempert. Sponsors include the McCallum 60th Anniversary Committee, Wilhelmina Brown of Austin, Austin Fashion Week, and Goodwill Industries. There will also be a boutique fashion show from Austin's own Crofts Original. As if that weren't enough, there will be an art sale and auction in the McCallum Art Gallery on the same day as the fashion show. Proceeds from that sale will go to the Visual Arts Department for much needed scholarships to deserving art students going to competitions, field trips, general art materials, and gallery show expenses.
