This Thursday, April 4th, Austin-made HELM Boots will celebrate taking their leather goods past the showroom and into their own retail store. The opening of the 900 square-foot store front at 900 East Sixth Street (at Brushy) marks the first retail location for the brand.
We've been advised to expect fashion accessories, scents, and home goods from purveyors such as local Edwood Studios, New York City's CB I Hate Perfume, and handbags by Stash Co. from Sealy, Texas. And if you're looking for shoe and leather care products, they promise to stock plenty of waxes, sprays, and various goos.
HELM's aim is to "reliably blend stylish integrity with durable handcrafted construction, providing a timeless boot that can be passed down through generations", but if you think these are just sturdy boots for work and stomping around, not so. There are a few fancy styles pictured here that we like for more than stomping – storming around is more like it.
The American Heritage-inspired emporium will also carry a variety of other items curated to stock a browsable, minimalist space. For Spring 2013, we noticed more dress boots – oxfordish boots, if you will. Check out the Spring look book, shot with Josh Chalmers and Abi Daniel at Bearded Lady Studios.
