Sexuality Conference Brings Knowledge & Cuddles in October

Camp Frolic invites grownups to come out and play

In tents? Not if you don't want it to be.
In tents? Not if you don't want it to be.

Something that Rick Springfield sang about how we all need the human touch, right?

Insert that memory here, if you've got it and can recall it without too much giggling; and anyway insert yourself into the midst of this conference, if you're looking to build a deeper, more authentic relationship to your sexuality – whatever that sexuality may be.

Camp Frolic is a two-day event created by sex educator Amy Cavender and Rosie Q Weaver, a founder of Austin’s monthly BedPost Confessions show and author of The Little Lovers and Other Perversions. Workshops, led by experts in the field, include subjects such energetic sex, improv in the bedroom, Yoga Play, Sexy Spanking, Speed-Flirting, and Healing Sexual Shame.

And … why?

“Sex is on display everywhere in our culture," says Weaver, "but rather than making it easier to communicate about and enjoy, this constant barrage raises expectations. Our goal with Camp Frolic is to bring back a sense of lightness and laughter to what’s become an all-too-serious subject.”

The weekend-long conference will be held in Hunt, Texas, at the Roddy Tree Ranch near the end of October. There will be ranch-style lodging and meals. Workshops will be PG-13 to R rated, facilitated by Reid Mihalko, Dr. Ruthie Neustifter, certified Cuddle Party organizer Monique Darling, and others.  “Expect to find games, dancing, delicious meals, discoveries, cuddles, yoga, laughter, kisses, new friends, and joyful explorations,” says Cavender.
