Revisiting Poetry in Motion
Poetry With Wheels needs help to keep spinning
By Monica Riese, 11:30AM, Wed. May 1, 2013
Not quite a year ago, we wrote about Poetry With Wheels, the partnership between Capital Metro and the Austin Poetry Society that brings local poetry to placards in unused ad space.

And now, the program needs help to get to the next stop.
Twelve different poems have been featured on Cap Metro buses for the past six months, with one bus (#2371) hosting the full set. But it's time for some change, and the next set of 12 will go up once APS has raised $1,700 to cover the remaining printing and posting costs.
So if you're a bus rider (and if you're not, why aren't you?) who wants some new light reading material on your morning commute, consider making a donation to:
Austin Poetry Society
PO Box 41346
Austin, TX 78704
(Note: That's a new address for APS.)
As they say: "It's a contribution to a civilized world, AND tax-deductible." Find out more about the society at www.austinpoetrysociety.org.
A note to readers: Bold and uncensored, The Austin Chronicle has been Austin’s independent news source for over 40 years, expressing the community’s political and environmental concerns and supporting its active cultural scene. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue supplying Austin with independent, free press. If real news is important to you, please consider making a donation of $5, $10 or whatever you can afford, to help keep our journalism on stands.
