The Texas Spring Book Festival Blooms This Weekend
Texas Association of Authors promotes local authors

A good book blooms not unlike our state's wildflowers.
You may start with a nondescript cover or an unassuming seed of plot, but in a matter of time, the books and blossoms alike will burst into an impressive array of colors as the author (or nature) paints with her unique palette a breathtaking scene.
So it's fitting, then, that the Texas Spring Book Festival comes right as the bluebonnets have reached their peak.
"Spring is the perfect time for our event," Texas Association of Authors founder B. Alan Bourgeois said. The festival seeks "to help those independent Texas authors who are over-looked by the larger publishing firms" blossom on their own.
In that vein, the festival includes several seminars on publishing, social media, and marketing in order to assist aspiring authors in this digital age.
The Texas Spring Book Festival takes place Saturday, April 20, 10am-7pm at Hickory Street Cafe (Eighth & Congress). Visit the festival website for complete details, including a schedule of seminars and author readings.
